About Me

Following my late gentle German Shepherd's lead, I am compelled to live my life more simply, purely and genuinely. This journey was borne out of the lessons he taught me.

My goal is to bring out and capture the essence and personality that makes each dog unique, like my Ruger. Every one has it and if you look hard enough, you see through to the true animal within. I have a great and deep love for dogs and wish to live more like them - Just... Simple. They can show us how to live and love and also how to get the most out of every experience, every day.

Let me capture your pet's heart, spirit and soul on film...preserved forever, a tangible reminder in how to live and how much you love them.

Note*** I am currently in Phase Three of my learning journey (see side notes) and am building my portfolio. I am not taking new clients as of yet, only mock sessions of friends/family or of specific learning situations I want to master (multiple dogs, learning the flash, couples, families, etc.). I am working on polishing my skills and techniques, and balancing that with being a stay-at-home-mom to my 2 year old triplets. So, it is going slowly - primarily because I don't want to miss a minute of my kids' childhood! Please watch for my transition soon (hopefully in the fall!) if you would like to let me photograph your pet.

the Black and Whites

As promised, here are a few of the previously posted pics of my kids in black and white - I think some of them look better this way, but I'll let you decide!

Tomorrow, I will post a few of the Senior shoot, providing I get the a.ok. from her momma - I am super excited about the shots we got... One of the challenges I face, and actually like to face, is always taking pictures in my own yard - but then making them feel fresh and new. There are a few favorite spots I have, that to me, just placing a new person there is enough, because it is so cool and adds so much substance to a picture - like the barn, for instance. So, I love having that problem, because it means I get to stay here and shoot while my kids are napping - no babysitter needed. :) And that's always a good thing to be able to wear both hats at the same time without it driving you mad.
